A global science and technology superpower
Deep tech is a big deal to the folks at TFD so we were delighted when UKQuantum approached us to help them become the voice of the UK quantum industry.
UKQuantum, is an industry-led consortium created to be the voice of the UK quantum industry. The founding committee had already laid the foundations for a united quantum industry in government and across international quantum bodies of repute including the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) to shape their quantum strategy. Our brief was to launch the consortium to secure new members.
In order to fulfill our brief we worked with founding members such as ORCA Computing, Oxford Instruments NanoScience (another TFD client) BT and many more to create press assets with quotes from the leading experts in the quantum ecosystem.
Did it Work?
We achieved over 30 tier one pieces of coverage to support the launch of UKQuantum including The Quantum Insider, UKTN, Capacity Media and Technology Magazine. Richard Murray, CEO of ORCA Computing and Carmen Palacios Berraquero, CEO of NU Quantum also took part in the Physics World podcast for their quantum week special which had a total of 8 brand mentions! Check it out below (27 mins in).
TFD also worked with the communications department of the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) to secure a quote and social media posts from the newly appointed Science and Investment Security Minister, Nusrat Ghani. The Minister said:
“Quantum forms a vital part of the Government’s vision for the UK to become a global science and technology superpower, and these exciting new technologies have the potential to transform our society and economy, from advancing drug discovery to helping to reduce gas emissions. So, I am extremely pleased that UKQuantum is now open to membership applications, uniting the industry while working closely with Government to help to shape the future of quantum technology in the UK.”
Our media relations strategy results coupled with the creation and implementation of a strategic social media campaign, saw UKQuantum secure a 10% uplift in member applications the week of launch.
As ORCA Computing’s CEO Richard Murray commented: “Quantum is a hugely exciting field to work in right now’ and TFD are loving being a part of it.
