Quantum Collective
Who are we?
With breakthroughs in quantum technologies reshaping life and business as we know it, the quantum industry’s cheerleaders, inventors, investors and interested parties need expert guidance to navigate the intricate world of communications in the realm of deep tech.
The Quantum Collective is TFD’s answer to an increasingly pressing call for strategic, responsible and clear communications within the quantum industry and between its experts and the public.
Communicating Quantum Roundtable
The TFD Quantum Collective held a roundtable discussion with leaders in the quantum technologies ecosystem. Held under Chatham House rules, the discussion focused on the challenges and strategies for better communicating quantum technologies to key audiences. Participants represented quantum hardware companies, investors, and government organisations, and came from technical, operational and marketing backgrounds.
This report summarises the insights from that discussion and offers the outline of a strategy for communicating this fascinating, world-changing emerging technology going forward, within the UK and beyond.

Exclusive virtual 'fireside' chat on Communicating Quantum, with The Economist's Alok Jha
The availability of quantum-powered solutions is proliferating, with major advancements in quantum technologies driving a wave of investment across the industry.
However, communication has proved a huge challenge for companies marketing these quantum technologies, with the overuse of highly technical, exclusionary language alienating wider audiences. As the industry looks to grow, inspire future generations, secure funding, and win customers, finding a way to communicate the benefits quantum can bring - in an easily understandable way - will be critical.
To help companies navigate the quantum media landscape and deliver engaging, relevant, and memorable messages, we hosted our inaugural Quantum Collective virtual 'fireside chat': Communicating Quantum.
The hour-long session featured an in-depth conversation with TFD Founder & CEO Stephanie Forrest, brand expert and Syndicut Co-Founder Nick Bromage, and The Economist’s Science and Technology Editor Alok Jha.
They discussed how companies operating with world-changing emerging quantum technologies can achieve strategic, responsible and clear communications within the quantum industry and between its experts and the public.
